Hanamkonda: BRS working president and Municipal Administration, Industries, and IT Minister K T Rama Rao while speaking at the public meetings in the Hayagreeva Chary ground a in Hanamkonda and Fort Warangal, mocked the Congress and BJP leaders voices on electricity and challenged them to come to tour in the Erstwhile Warangal district rural villages to catch the electricity wires, then they got to know that the 24-hour supply of electricity in Telangana state.

“Come to the villages, catch the electricity wires, and then you’ll know,” Rao taunted offering to arrange 100 buses and biryani for the opposition parties to verify the state’s free power supply to the agricultural sector. The minister’s remarks come as a direct response to the Congress and BJP’s scepticism about the state’s energy policies.

Rao didn’t stop at electricity, he went on to say, “Since the agitations in 1969, 1956, and 2004, the Congress has dragged its feet and duped the people of Telangana.” It was only in 2014, after sacrifices from the state’s youth, that the Congress finally tabled the bill for separate statehood in Parliament.

K T Rama Rao questioned centralised decision-making processes of the Congress and BJP. “Their candidatures will be decided in Delhi. If they want to take any action in the state, they’ll need permission from Delhi,” he said. In contrast, Chief Minister of Telangana K Chandrashekhar Rao is “boss of the nation,” who takes decisions in consultation with the people of Telangana.

KTR also pointed out that G Kishan Reddy, the state president of the BJP and Union Minister, was absent during the Telangana agitation from 2000 to 2014. “He absconded to the USA several times. Now he criticises the BRS government,” Rao said.

“We are pleading for your votes once again for good governance,” he said. He also hinted that the Chief Minister is planning to enhance the Asara pension scheme soon, he said.

Before the public meetings, K T Rama Rao inaugurated various developmental projects from a Road and Building Guest House and KUDA developmental works in Hanamkonda to an MRI scanning unit in MGM Hospital in Warangal. He also laid foundation stones for an IT Tower in Hanamkonda, a Police Barbosa Centre, and a Digital Library at Rangampet, among other initiatives.
