To ease daily commute for Hyderabad and Secunderabad residents, the South Central Railway (SCR) has rolled out an array of new Multi-Modal Transport System (MMTS) services. Six new MMTS routes, including the much-anticipated Medchal-Lingampalli and Medchal-Hyderabad, will be running now.
In a first, the MMTS services have been in sync with the Vande Bharat Train timings. A pair of MMTS services have been introduced to connect Lingampalli-Umdanagar in the early morning and Falaknuma-Lingampalli in the night, facilitating easier access to the recently launched Vande Bharat Train Service between Kacheguda and Bengaluru.
The SCR’s decision to revamp the MMTS services comes as response from feedback of travellers. “Prime importance has been given to ease the travel needs of office goers and those travelling long distances due to various work and family commitments,” said Arun Kumar Jain, General Manager, South Central Railway. The new services are expected to be particularly beneficial to students, daily commuters, small business owners, women, and employees, SCR says.
This time, there’s a revision of train timings to align with peak morning and evening hours. This is at accommodating the needs of daily commuters and office-goers, SCR said. Take for instance, the Medchal-Lingampalli route will now have trains departing at 07:20 and 15:30, designed to get you to work and back home.
MMTS passengers can now travel between Medchal-Lingampalli and Medchal-Hyderabad at affordable prices. “More number of rail passengers in the twin city region can now avail the most cost-effective as well as safe, fast travel option,” said Arun Kumar Jain.
Apart from the Medchal routes, six new MMTS services have been introduced between Umdanagar-Secunderabad and Falaknuma-Secunderabad.

Medchal-Lingampalli-Medchal
- Train No. 47222: Departs at 07:20, arrives at 09:20 (Except Sunday)
- Train No. 47225: Departs at 10:20, arrives at 12:10 (Daily)
Medchal-Hyderabad-Medchal
- Train No. 47251: Departs at 11:50, arrives at 13:30 (Daily)
- Train No. 47244: Departs at 13:40, arrives at 15:20 (Daily)
MMTS services with Vande Bharat Connectivity
- Train No. 47213: Departs at 04:00, arrives at 05:40 (Daily)
- Train No. 47220: Departs at 23:15, arrives at 00:45 (Daily)
