PM Modi to Unveil ₹13,500 Crore Projects in Telangana on October 1

Prime Minister’s 2-Hour Visit to Focus on Infrastructure, Rail, and Oil & Gas Sectors

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit poll-bound Telangana on October 1. The Prime Minister’s itinerary is packed with multiple projects’ inauguration and foundation-laying ceremonies, cumulatively valued at over ₹13,500 crore. 

These initiatives span sectors like road, rail, petroleum, natural gas, and higher education. PM Modi will arrive at Mahabubnagar district around 2:15 p.m. and start laying the foundations for key road projects that form part of the Nagpur–Vijayawada Economic Corridor. He will inaugurate a 108 km long ‘four-lane access-controlled Greenfield highway from Warangal to Khammam section of NH-163G’ and a 90 km long ‘four-lane access-controlled greenfield highway from Khammam to Vijayawada section of NH-163G’. Developed at a total cost of about ₹6,400 crore, these projects are expected to reduce travel distances significantly—14 km between Warangal and Khammam and 27 km between Khammam and Vijayawada, an Official Release

This apart, the Prime Minister will inaugurate a 59 km long ‘four-laning of Suryapet to Khammam section of NH-365BB’, developed under the Bharatmala Pariyojana, built at a cost of ₹2,460 crore aimed to improve Khammam district and the coastal regions of Andhra Pradesh.

Railways: 

Prime Minister Modi will also flag off the inaugural Hyderabad (Kacheguda)–Raichur train service via video conferencing. This new rail line, built at over ₹500 crore, will connect Hyderabad, Rangareddy, Mahabubnagar, and Narayanpet districts in Telangana with Raichur district in Karnataka. The service benefits students, daily commuters, labourers, and the local handloom industry, particularly in the backward communities of Mahabubnagar and Narayanpet.

Oil and Gas Projects:

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the ‘Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline Project’, built at a cost of ₹2,170 crore. This pipeline will provide a safe, cost-efficient, and eco-friendly LPG transportation and distribution mode in the region. Also, the foundation stone for a ‘Multi-Product Petroleum Pipeline of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad (Malkapur)’ will be laid. This 425-kilometre pipeline, costing ₹1,940 crores, promises to improve the transportation of petroleum products. 

Higher Education Projects: 

At around 4:30 p.m., he will inaugurate five new buildings at the Central University of Hyderabad, including the School of Economics, Mathematics & Statistics, Management Studies, Lecture Hall Complex–III, and Sarojini Naidu School of Arts & Communication.

  • Full length of new rail line: 37 km
  • Total cost of new rail line: ₹500 crore
